Instagram Management
Connects your Instagram professional account to a Botonom agent so it can publish photo posts and carousels, browse the feed, and schedule posts through Botonom tasks.

What Instagram Management does for you
The Instagram Management skill lets one of your Botonom agents run your Instagram publishing from a normal chat. You can say "Post this photo with this caption", "What did we publish this week?", or "Post it tomorrow at 3 PM", and the agent handles it against your real Instagram professional account.
It works through your existing Meta connection: your Instagram professional account is reached through the Facebook Page it is linked to, so there is nothing new to configure beyond the one Meta connect.
What it can do
Once connected and assigned to an agent, here is what the agent can do with your Instagram:
- Show the connected account. Username, follower count and post count, plus which Facebook Page it is linked through.
- Browse the feed. List recent posts with captions, types and permanent links, or open a single post with its like and comment counts.
- Publish photo posts. One public JPEG image plus a caption (hashtags welcome).
- Publish carousels. 2 to 10 JPEG images in one swipeable post.
- Schedule posts. Say when it should go out; the agent creates a Botonom task that publishes at that time, and the task is visible and editable in your Calendar until it runs.
It pairs naturally with the Canva skill: design the visual in chat, export it as JPG, and hand it straight to Instagram.
How to use it
1. Install it. Open the Skill Marketplace in Botonom, find Instagram Management under Marketing & Ads, and click Install.
2. Assign it to an agent. Only agents you give this skill to can touch your Instagram.
3. Connect Meta. If your company has not connected Meta yet, Botonom asks you to (see the next section).
4. Just ask. Talk to the agent in normal language:
User: What are our last three posts?
Agent: Here are the latest 3 posts on @yourbrand: 1) "Summer campaign" photo, 2) "New arrivals" carousel, 3) "Behind the scenes" photo. Want any permalink?
User: Design a discount announcement in Canva, export it as JPG and post it with the caption "20% off this week only"
Agent: Done. The design is exported and published to @yourbrand. Here is the post: instagram.com/p/...
User: Post it tomorrow at 3 PM instead
Agent: Scheduled. I created a task for tomorrow 15:00; you can see or edit it in your Calendar. I will publish it and confirm here.
Connecting your account
This skill uses your company's Meta connection (the same one the ads skills use), plus a linked Instagram professional account:
- Instagram must be a professional account (Business or Creator) linked to a Facebook Page you manage. Link it from the Instagram app: Edit profile, then Page.
- Connect Meta once in Botonom. The connect consent includes Pages and Instagram permissions; the same connection is shared across all Meta-based skills.
- You can disconnect any time from your Botonom connection settings.
Good to know (limits and security)
A few honest boundaries so you know what to expect:
- JPEG only. Instagram's publishing API accepts JPEG images; PNG is rejected. Canva exports as JPG work perfectly.
- Photos and carousels today. Reels and stories are on the roadmap.
- Public image URLs. The image must be reachable by Instagram; files produced inside Botonom (Canva exports, uploads) already are.
- Platform limits apply. Instagram allows about 50 API-published posts per account per day.
- Role-aware. Reading the feed is available to your whole team; publishing is limited to manager-level roles and above.
