Trademark Watch
Follow your marks on the register, check a name before you file, and catch similar new applications while the opposition window is still open.
This guide begins with What Trademark Watch does, continues through What it can do, How to use it, Setup, and finishes with Good to know.
What Trademark Watch does
This skill lets an agent watch names on industrial-property registers and answer a one-off "is this name free?" question. You talk to the agent in plain language. It does not file anything, and it does not tell you whether to oppose.
The skill is built as a registry adapter: one watch book, several registers. v1 ships the Turkish register (TÜRKPATENT). EUIPO, WIPO and TMview are the same skill later, not a new install.
The economic reason this exists is the opposition window. In Turkey, opposing a published application costs a fraction of cancelling a mark after it is registered (2026 tariff: 1.150 TL to oppose vs 35.320 TL to cancel, before attorney fees). The skill's job is to surface the similar filing and the deadline so that window is not missed.
What it can do
- Find the company's own marks from a holder name or registry person number, so you do not type every filing by hand.
- Create one or more watches (terms, Nice classes, whose records count as "ours").
- List, update, pause or delete a watch.
- Scan now. Run one watch or every active watch and get back only the findings that matter.
- List findings by date or status ("what came up this month?").
- Close a finding as not relevant, or as already handled. Closed records do not alarm again.
- One-shot search of a name you are considering, without saving a watch.
A scan that finds nothing important stays quiet. Dead records, your own filings, and findings you already closed never raise an alarm.
How to use it
Install Trademark Watch from the Marketplace and assign it to an agent. Then talk to that agent. A repeating scan is a task the agent creates for you, not a hidden timer inside the skill.
User: Markalarımı takibe al, her sabah tara, önemli bir şey olursa bildir.
Agent: I'll find the live marks, open watches for them, and schedule a morning scan. If nothing important turns up, you won't get a ping.
User: Şu ismi düşünüyoruz, müsait mi bir bakar mısın?
Agent: I'll search the register once and list the live records, with classes and any opposition deadline.
User: Bu kaydı görmezden gel, bizimle alakası yok.
Agent: Closed. It won't alert again.
When you ask for a cadence ("every morning at 08:00"), the agent uses the existing scheduled-task tools. You can see that task in Calendar / Tasks, pause it, and choose notify channels there.
Setup
There is no API key and no OAuth. Install the skill, grant it in Roles & Access, and start talking.
Optional settings on the skill change how loud a finding has to be before it counts as important (exact match vs a name that only contains the term, same class vs a neighbouring class). Defaults are conservative: if nothing important is found, the scan stays silent.
Good to know
- Not legal advice. The agent reports the record, the score and the deadline. It will not say "file an opposition" or "don't".
- Your data stays in the workspace. Another company can watch the same name; the two watches never mix.
- Class filters on the official site are unreliable. The skill searches broadly and filters the result itself.
- A filing made today may show up with an empty application number for a few hours while the register catches up. The document number is kept so it is still the same record tomorrow.
- Several registers, one skill. v1 is TÜRKPATENT. Other registers plug in behind the same watches. You do not install a second skill per country.
