Botonom is opening its enterprise trust layer to companies that put agents to work on live business data. The idea behind it is straightforward: what an agent is allowed to do should not depend on how carefully its instructions were written. It should be a property of the system the agent works inside.
Authority is a setting, not a sentence
Every Botonom agent works under a role, and that role decides which records it can see and which actions it can perform. The limit is applied in the data layer, so a record outside the role never reaches the agent and an action outside the role is simply not available to it. Companies that keep separate teams, brands or regions apart keep those boundaries intact when agents start working.
Sensitive work waits for a person
Not every job should run unattended. A company can require human approval for the actions it considers sensitive: the agent prepares the work, then stops, shows what is waiting and why, and continues only once someone approves. Companies that connect their own service accounts bring their own keys, and those keys are stored encrypted.
