Orders / Sales

Lets your agent turn a chat conversation into a real saved order: build a cart from your catalog, place the order, and look up or list order status.

What Orders / Sales does

Orders / Sales lets one of your Botonom agents take a customer all the way from "I want to buy this" to a real, saved order, without you touching a spreadsheet. It is the checkout half of your online selling: the Products Catalog skill knows what you sell (names, SKUs, prices, tax, stock), and Orders / Sales turns that into a cart and places the order right inside the conversation.

What it connects to

  • Your product catalog in Botonom. It reads the live SKU, price and tax at the exact moment an order is placed.
  • Your own order records. It creates and reads orders that belong only to your company.

It does not connect to any outside shop or payment provider. Your company is identified automatically from the signed-in agent, so an order can never be created against another business's account, and a customer can never see orders that are not yours.

What it can do for you

In practice the skill gives your agent three things it can do:

  • Place an order from chat. The agent builds a cart (each line is a catalog SKU plus a quantity), captures the customer's name and phone (email and an order note are optional), and records how they will pay: bank transfer (havale), cash on delivery, or card on delivery. When it saves the order, Botonom locks in the current price and tax from your catalog and hands back an order number and a total.
  • Look up a single order. Give the agent an order number and it reports that order's status, total and payment status. This is available to owners and admins only.
  • List recent orders. Owners and admins can ask for the latest orders and filter them by status (new, confirmed, preparing, delivered, cancelled) or by payment status (pending, paid).
Orders / Sales works hand in hand with the Products Catalog skill. Install the Products Catalog on the same agent and add your products with SKUs and prices first, otherwise the agent has nothing to build a cart from.

How to set it up and use it

Install and assign

  1. Open the Skill Marketplace in your Botonom dashboard and find Orders / Sales (category E-commerce).
  2. Click Install and choose which of your hired agents should use it. It is enabled instantly.
  3. Confirm the Products Catalog skill is installed on the same agent and your products have SKUs, prices and tax set.

Then just talk to your agent in plain language. A few natural examples:

User: I'd like 2 medium black t-shirts and 1 large hoodie, cash on delivery.
Agent: Great. That's 2x TSH-M-BLK and 1x HOD-L, total 940.00 TL.
Can I get your name and a phone number for the order?
User: Ayse Yilmaz, 0532 000 00 00
Agent: Done. Your order number is 1043, total 940.00 TL, payment on delivery (cash).

User: What's the status of order 1043?
Agent: Order 1043 is "preparing", total 940.00 TL, payment status: pending.

User: Show me today's unpaid orders.
Agent: Here are the latest orders with payment status "pending": 1043, 1044, 1045 ...

The agent confirms the items and total with the customer before it actually places an order, so nothing is saved by accident.

What you need to connect

Nothing external. Orders / Sales is a workspace skill, not a connection. There is no outside account to link, no "Connect and Install" OAuth step, and no API key or token to paste anywhere. It simply uses the order and catalog data that already lives inside your Botonom workspace.

The only real setup is:

  • Products first. Install the Products Catalog skill and add your products with SKUs, prices and tax.
  • Decide who can order. If you want website or WhatsApp visitors to check out by themselves, an admin can grant the order-placing action to your public role. Keep order lookup and listing restricted to staff (see the next section).

Good to know

Honest limits

  • It records how a customer will pay, it does not charge a card. Bank transfer, cash on delivery and card on delivery all mean the customer pays you directly, into your account or to the courier at the door. The agent never asks for or handles card numbers in chat.
  • Prices are a snapshot. The price and tax on an order are frozen at the moment it is placed. Changing a product's price later does not rewrite past orders.
  • Scope today. It covers building the cart, placing the order and looking orders up. It does not print shipping labels or generate invoice PDFs on its own.

Who can do what (roles)

ActionWho can use it
Place an orderCan be opened to everyone, including anonymous visitors (self-checkout)
Look up an orderOwner and admin only
List recent ordersOwner and admin only
Never grant the order lookup or order list actions to your public role. Those actions can reveal other customers' orders, names and phone numbers, so they must stay with staff only.

Security. Every order belongs to your company alone and is stored in your Botonom workspace. The agent resolves your company from its own signed identity, never from anything typed into the chat, so orders are never mixed between businesses.
